A small cat sits on the corner of the knee, staring back into a pair of eyes. The cat doesn’t understand the change in environment, but it learns to be comfortable after many years. Untouched fur was stiff at first, but now is smitten with care. Its quiet presence was always there even without notice. Attention grows when it is gone, but goes to sleep after a while. Multidisciplinary artist Joy Li uses memories and imagination to create pencil drawings that tell the story of her deceased childhood cat. The drawn scenes combat loss, transforming it into a tender feeling.
