The Daniels Faculty conducts interdisciplinary and applied research that traverses the borders between science, social science, engineering and economics. Our research activities are varied, but can be grouped into four overarching areas:

  1. Forest conservation science
  2. Forest ecosystem management
  3. Forest governance and policy
  4. Biomaterials and mass timber

Forestry’s long history and location in Toronto have enabled faculty members to form close relationships with thought-leaders, distilling the utility and impact of their research and discoveries, and enabling partnerships with the public, private and non-profit sectors.
