Canada is seeing an “unprecedented” wildfire season so far and summer hasn’t even begun. In almost every province across Canada, crews are working to put out fires that threaten communities. Canada is currently on track to see a record amount of land burned this year and the intense wildfire activity is causing hazardous levels of smoke to drift southward to major cities and into the U.S. Farah Nasser of Global News spoke with Patrick James, a forestry and climate change expert, about what is fueling the fires and the future of Canadian forests.
