Shan Shukla is a recent graduate from the Master of Forest Conservation program at the University of Toronto. Shan completed his Honors Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto as well majoring in chemistry and biology. He is currently working at the institute to support research projects, while working towards obtaining his Registered Professional Forester designation with the Ontario Professional Forestry Association. Shan is interested in promoting sustainable mass timber through sustainable forest management. He is also interested in city planning and supporting the development of mixed-use transit oriented communities in the Greater Toronto Area as a means to better accommodate the growing population and housing supply shortages. At the Mass Timber Institute, Shan brings his experience in forest management, and basic sciences to help drive research in the mass timber sector.
