August 2022 – Daniels Ha/f Studio Research Influences City Policy
Research conducted by Daniels Ha/f Studio will be used to develop embodied carbon benchmarks for the next version of Toronto Green Standards and broader policies! In partnership with Mantle Developments and The City of Toronto, a policy primer has been developed.
January 2022 – Places of Production wins ACSA Timber Awards
Congratulations to MTI principal, Robert Wright, and University of Toronto professor Brigitte Shim for receiving an honourable mention in the ACSA’s Timber Education Prize. The prize was awarded for their studio: Places of Production: Forest and Factory. The course, offered at the Daniels Faculty at U of T, was done in partnership with Element5 and asked students to draw connections between forestry and built form. The course culminated in a publication of the students work: the Places of Production: Forest and Factory book.
